ACTIVE POWER Bodys are patterned from the Original Steel Car. Upgrades have been made without sacrificing authenticity.Your fiberglass body is hand laimanted using vinyl ester resin resulting in the highest quality construction and durability available. Stress cracking and shrinkage are all but eliminated as a result. Every measure available is used during layup to insure that your body will look like the day it was finished for years to come. Your body is delivered to you in a polished high gloss gelcoat finish. Floors and Bulkheads are installed in our alignment fixtures insuring consistentcy in chassis mount up. Bodies are reinforced with hardwood and backed with steel in key high stress areas such as the hinge and latch mounting points. Structural tubing is also used under the removable fiberglass dash and in the 1/4 panel areas adding rigidity while providing mounting points for key components.Inner headliner shell installed is now standard. The doors are installed using reproduction original external hinges Latching mechanism is also provided using FMVSS bear claws and strikers. Tinted Tempered side windows With manual window regulators installed. Tinted safety glass front and rear is installed using OEM Style rubber seals.
The chassis starts with a custom fabricated original style perimeter frame, jig welded for accuracy fully boxed with tubular crossmembers tied into a tubular driveshaft loop. Engine and transmission mounts are installed. Our Chassis comes standard with a Parallel leaf spring straight axle front suspension. Also standard are Front Disc Brakes with vented rotors. Bringing up the rear are Gasser Ladder Bars with aluminum coil overs locating the Ford 9" rear end w/ 31 Spline Axles, and OEM style drum brakes with parking brake. The chassis is fully assembled and the body is installed using grade 8 hardware.
